Our Practice
Having obtained a great deal of estate planning experience while on active duty from counseling thousands of military members on estate matters, and from his own practice over many years, Patrick’s present practice focuses on trust and estate planning matters and techniques. Regarding estate planning, he provides the following representative services:
● Counseling of clients regarding estate planning goals.
● Preparation of Estate Planning Portfolios, including the Revocable Living Trust, Comprehensive Transfer Document, Certificate of Trust, Certificate of Trustee Authority and Power, Pour over Last Will and Testament, Durable Power of Attorney.
● Preparation of documents to assist the client in the event of incapacitation, including Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care and Statutory Living Will.
● Preparation of Asset Transfer Documents to effect the estate plan.
Patrick understands that estate planning issues can be difficult because an individual must make final decisions about assets accumulated over a lifetime. Patrick’s firm prides itself on client service and professionalism, and as a result, these decisions become smooth transitions for all clients he consults.

Patrick E. Neighbors, Owner
Patrick E. Neighbors is an estate planning attorney who owns the law firm, The Neighbors Law Firm, P.C., with offices in Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina. Patrick is admitted to the Supreme Courts of North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Eastern Districts of North Carolina, and the United States Supreme Court.
On an Air Force ROTC scholarship, Patrick received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from the renowned McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, where he was an Echols Scholar. He then received his Juris Doctor Law degree from the prestigious University of Virginia School of Law.
Although now retired from the Air Force Reserves, Patrick enjoyed his time serving our country, especially his last duty station, where he was an Instructor of Air Force Judge Advocates (JAGs - Attorneys).
